I always recommend eating organic foods whenever possible. One of the main reasons is to avoid pesticides. There are many reasons for you to avoid pesticides:
Because the toxic effects of pesticides are hazardous, you are wise to minimize your exposure to pesticides whenever possible. If you avoid the 12 most contaminated fruits and vegetables, you will lower your pesticide exposure by almost 90%. Washing your fruits and vegetables reduces the pesticide levels but it does not eliminate them. Peeling reduces pesticides as well but the majority of the nutrients are in the peel. The best way to avoid pesticides is to eat organic. The second best option is to avoid the most contaminated fruits and vegetables. The third option is thoroughly clean and peel your fruits and vegetables. Here is a list of the fruits and vegetables that contain the highest amount of pesticides. Avoid these foods unless you buy them organically.
Many people avoid organic food because of they believe that it is too expensive. However eating organic can be quite affordable if you plan wisely and don't let food go to waste in the refrigerator.
